Whitehaven Beach Tour

Whitehaven Xpress is a Whitehaven Beach Tour with a distinct difference.

The difference is we now include a lot more time for our guests to take in fully the two most iconic locations in the Whitsundays – “Whitehaven Beach” and “Hill Inlet Lookout” & Hill Inlet Beach. We exclude any other activities which take time away from and restrict the Whitehaven experience!

New to our itinerary since late 2019 is access to Hill Inlet Beach and an optional guided walk to the new Whitehaven Lookout.

The BBQ lunch on Whitehaven Beach is our all time Captains favorite, which we have been doing now for 30 years! The addition of extra Whitehaven Beach time for the walk or for chilling in the crystal clear waters is a real hit with our guests.

In short, Whitehaven Xpress is the only day tour to offer both beaches Whitehaven Beach & Hill Inlet Beach as well as both lookouts Whitehaven & Hill Inlet. Therefore this Whitehaven Beach Tour now offers 2 destinations with some amazing experiences, all in the 1 day. It is also likely that Capt. Dan or Capt. Shane will try and catch a fish for the BBQ if the conditions are suitable, as well as spot you a turtle from the flybridge.

This Whitehaven Beach Tour cater for all ages better than anyone else! From Grey Nomads, Seniors (65+), Students, Families & infants (0-3) to a bunch of friends, small groups and even private charters. Our family business has been providing the comfort and the making memories for over 30 years now. We ensure all ages have a great and memorable day.

Whitehaven Beach

Sink your toes into the white silica sands of the renowned and award-winning Whitehaven Beach. Walking on Whitehaven Beach is something to behold, right down near the waters edge – it’s soft, cool white sandy beach hugged by clear turquoise waters is famous the world over. The seven-kilometre stretch of white silica sands and crystal-clear waters is pristine and untouched by development, so make sure you venture down to the waters edge! The sand contains 99% silica meaning it is made from quartz, however extremely fine and soft.  Because its silica, the sand doesn’t retain heat and makes it a fantastic place to walk on barefoot, even on a hot day, but only where the sand has not mixed with the islands dirt. Whitehaven Beach is genuinely famous and has received many awards.

How to Get to Whitehaven Beach

Travelling to Whitehaven Beach is usually made by booking a one day tour from Airlie Beach or from one of the island resorts on a cruise or ferry of some type!

There is believe it or not an option of skippering your own boat! Another option is to book a crewed overnight sailing experience. You can also enjoy the beauty of Whitehaven Beach from a bird’s eye view by taking a scenic flight over Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet, but better still land on Whitehaven Beach via a seaplane or helicopter.

The time it takes to venture to Whitehaven Beach will differ depending on your mode of transportation and the location you are departing from. With so many options available, getting to Whitehaven Beach marks the beginning of a journey that will be unforgettable!

Whitehaven Xpress’s Points of Difference

Firstly, we want you to arrive safely and easily, hence the Complimentary Pick Up service from and back to your accommodations. We believe we offer this service in the most professional and efficient manner of all tours!

Secondly, comfort is very important, for example you can choose a seat Indoors, Outdoors or Upstairs. You can also walk around the boat when underway. Toilets on board as well as at each of our stopovers.

The food journey starts with morning tea and coffee, followed by an awesome Aussie BBQ lunch. Finally an afternoon cheese platter is served as we head back to Coral Sea Marina.

With almost 3 hours on Whitehaven Beach, the Aussie Beach BBQ plays second fiddle to the unique soft silica sands and crystal clear waters. You will have the choice of an optional guided walk to the new and outstanding Whitehaven Beach Lookout or just extra time relaxing on Whitehaven. Hill Inlet located nearby Whitehaven Beach is the highlight for most visitors. We also have the time to walk on the swirling sands.

The Licensed bar has very reasonably priced beverages for throughout the day and especially to accompany the cheese platter. We operate an honesty bar on board.

Owned by the McNally family since 1989, Capt. Dan & Capt. Shane will ensure you have a unique and memorable experience.
