24th November – Queensland Border to open to Victoria on December 1 after 28 days with no COVID-19 community transmissions.
23rd November – Visitors from NSW will be able to visit Queensland without mandatory hotel quarantine.
3rd September – Covid fragment detected in Whitsunday wastewater which prooved to be a storm in a teacup – thankfully.
1st September – The Queensland border closure has been extended throughout September.
5th August – Queensland announces Border closure to NSW (Pop – 8 million) & ACT (Pop 1/2 million) – from Saturday 8th August.
2nd August – Victoria enters a State of Disaster. Until Sunday 13th September.
31st July – Queensland Borders closer announced for Greater Sydney. Pop – 5 million.
10th July – Queensland Border now closed Victorians. Pop – 6.5 million.
3rd July – Queensland Tourism Operators restrictions are eased.
22nd June – Covid Clean Practising Business awarded to Whitehaven Xpress
3rd June – Flights have been scheduled for 22nd June from Brisbane to Whitsundays.
14th May – Whitehaven Xpress announces that our next tour is 1st July 2020.
10th April – Australians are in lock-down for Easter.
25th March – Nation wide limits to indoor and outdoor gatherings. Stay at home to stop the spread!
23rd March – No tours are available in the Whitsundays.
22nd March – A handful of tour operators are still operating with conditions placed upon clients. Regardless of Government advise and the risks involved in the spread of the virus!
21st March – The Government has closed down the tourism industry which is considered non-essential travel.
20th March – Whitsunday region as a whole remains largely unaffected by the Corona Virus. Most Whitehaven Beach Tours from Airlie Beach are still operating.
15th March 2020 – Whitehaven Xpress the pioneer of Whitehaven Beach Day Trips made the decision to suspend tours before any other operator in the Whitsundays. Tours were suspended from the 17th March.
