Whitehaven Xpress – Ageholdsnobounds

Mantaray Bay our first stop. Stinger suits on in case we meet a nasty, angry jellyfish, we are ready. Don’t we look good. The sea had been and was quite choppy so we didn’t get a clear view of the fish, but we did see a large blue fish was was possibly a Tuna. It was fun just floating around in the ocean.

Back on board we head to Hill Inlet and take a walk up to the view point. I am sure you will agree the waters look so beautiful with the mountains in the back ground.

Next stop Whitehaven Beach with its wonderful Silica sand for Swimming and BBQ. Whitehaven Beach is a 7km stretch along the Whitsunday Islands and it’s sand is 98% silica, giving it the white colour. Silica doesn’t retain heat so it is nice to walk on even on a hot Aussie day. The water was lovely for swimming and Vince even had a walk Bare Foot on the sand, for those who don’t know Vince, he hates getting his feet dirty. Well done my hubby. The silica is excellent for cleaning jewellery and some of the ladies where gleaming when we got back to the boat.

The Lace Monitor Lizard’s joined us for the BBQ, which was fab. Don’t think he was interested in Vince’s sandy Bare Foot, not as tasty as a big chunk of steak, oh dear poor Lizards not allowed that either, not a good day for them, oh well back to hunting insects. It was lovely to see the lizards in their natural environment and not stuck in a glass cage.

An eventful day, snorkelling, swimming, walking, BBQ, a stranded passenger, a choppy, wet and windy ocean was like being on a roller coaster boat ride, I loved it. Vince did get a bit green. But we had a great fun day, the crew were helpful to those in need and made the day an enjoyable experience. Not sure how they managed to get me off the ground, thanks guys.
